Ski schools and ski courses in the ski area Ötztal

The ski areas in the Ötztal valley include the villages of Oetz, Kühtai, Niederthai, Sölden, Vent, Obergurgl and Hochgurgl and are among the most popular in Tyrol. These winter resorts offer excellent conditions for skiing and winter holidays. Many different slopes, for beginners as well as for advanced and professional skiers and snowboarders make for a successful skiing and winter holiday!

Right at the entrance to the Ötztal valley, the Hochoetz Family Ski Centre is located in the middle of the beautiful Tyrolean villages of Sautens, Oetz and Haiming. Ötz is considered one of the earliest settlement centres in the Ötz valley and was first mentioned in documents in 1166 as "Etze".
Kühtai ski area - Austria's highest winter sports resort

A few hundred metres further up is Kühtai between the Ötztal and the Sellraintal. At 2,020 metres in the Stubai Alps the lifts start here. At an altitude where elsewhere the mountain stations are already located, hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments invite you to spend the night.
Niederthai ski area - ideal for beginners and families with children

Niederthai as a skiing area is particularly appealing to beginners. At 1,500 metres, the small mountain village above Umhausen offers three lifts with four kilometres of pistes.

A panorama road leads from Längenfeld to Gries. At 1,600 metres, a world of peace and relaxation opens up here. The clearly arranged, idyllic little village offers ideal conditions for a tranquil skiing holiday. On two lifts with practice slopes, young and old can ski to their heart's content. Countless cross-country ski runs and toboggan runs invite snow lovers to enjoy wonderful winter hikes and cross-country skiing.
Skiing fun in the skiing area in Sölden

The largest and probably loudest place in the Ötztal is the ski area Sölden. Especially for young winter sports enthusiasts, the ski area Sölden is attractive, one of the most visited ski areas in the Ötztal. Last but not least, the three three thousand meter peaks - proudly called "Big Three" by the inhabitants - and the glacier have contributed their share.

Between 1,800 and 3,080 meters of altitude difference, a total of 144 kilometers of slopes are available. Thanks to the altitude of the Sölden ski area, two glacier areas and snow-making facilities on all slopes below 2,200 metres, snow is guaranteed from November to May. Modern cable car facilities ensure short waiting times, leaving more time for skiing.

The Sölden ski area is also an après-ski resort and Mecca for going out! Many pubs and discotheques make the largest municipality in Austria in terms of area, located at 1,377 meters, a party stronghold of superlatives.
Skiing area Vent - cosy and quiet

The Vent ski area also boasts a fantastic location: the town is surrounded by numerous glaciers, three thousand metre peaks and mountains with such illustrious names as Similaun and Wildspitz, which at 3,774 metres is the highest mountain in Tyrol. 800 snow-assured vertical meters and downhill runs right up to the front door make skiing the only pleasure.

The small village is ideal if you don't expect endless kilometres of slopes and noisy ski bars, but want to ski and enjoy peace and quiet. Beginners friendly slopes make this ski and winter holiday resort especially attractive for a family holiday.

The new 5-kilometre-long toboggan run offers unforgettable winter fun, while the Vent Ski School and the ski kindergarten not only inspire the little ones to ski and other snow sports. Situated between 1,900 and 2,680 meters, with a total of four lifts - three drag lifts and a double chair lift - and guaranteed snow until spring, Vent can confidently hold its own against the big ones as one of the smaller ski resorts in the Ötz Valley.
Obergurgl-Hochgurgl - highest situated church village in Austria

Obergurgl and Hochgurgl unite to form a huge ski area, ideally connected by the "Top-Express", which offers a unique, breathtaking view of the glaciated mountain peaks for ten minutes. The ski area Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, the development of which began as early as 1931, is located in the rear Ötztal and is the highest located ski area in the Ötztal - guaranteed snow from November to May is also guaranteed in this village.

At the end of the valley, "Top Quality Skiing" is the order of the day: quality before quantity in terms of accommodation as well as lift facilities. Cable car facilities with a transport rate of 33,000 sportsmen/h make long queues quickly forgotten.

In addition to their respective characteristic features, all of these ski areas in the Ötztal Valley have the best prepared ski slopes and a large variety of cosy hotels, alpine huts and restaurants in common.

Numerous offers from various hotels, guesthouses and holiday apartments in the above mentioned ski areas in Tyrol also guarantee the right accommodation for your wishes and needs.
