Ski schools and ski courses in Maria Alm

Maria Alm besides Mühlbach and Dienten, is the largest of the three holiday areas in the Salzburger region Höchkönig and is the most happening place. The area of Pinzgau is embedded in the Salzburger mountains at 802 m.

If you are currently planning your skiing holiday, then the thing which takes priority is the ski resort and that is excellent here: 120 connected kilometres of slopes, very modern lift facilities, numerous quaint huts and modern ski huts and that always together with the imposing view of the Hochkönig. All this forms the “peak of senses“, as the region calls itself. Maria Alm is also a part of Austria’s greatest skiing area, Ski amadé, which opens up 760 kilometres of slopes to you, all with only one ski pass, but it also has many great interesting price campaigns for families and seniors for example. In Maria Alm there is the beginner Park Natrun and the Funslope Schönanger for Freeskiers. Further Funparks can be found in the neighbouring ski areas, which you can get to directly from Maria Alm over the slopes, for example the Blue Tomato Kings Park in Mühlbach. In Maria Alm there is a weekly night show with Freestyle and stunts, where you will be amazed at everything that can be done on skis. The night show is put on by the local ski schools and snowboard schools. You will see that they really know what it is all about. Reason enough to go ahead and book your ski course and snowboard course. Regardless whether you are a beginner or advanced, starting again or a professional, child or adult, there is something for every age and ability. The local top qualified ski instructors will teach you to ski with lots of fun and tricks or can help you to perfect your turns so that you can really master every slope effortlessly.

But for the perfect swing, you also need the perfect equipment. Get guidance from the professionals at the local ski rental and get the best ski equipment for the best price.

In Maria Alm and the Hochkönig ski area a really great ski circuit awaits you: The Königstour with 35 kilometres of slopes, 6 peaks and 7,500 altitude metres. You will be so impressed! As we are sure that you won’t be able to get enough of skiing, you can also go night skiing in Maria Alm at the Simmer lift. And as a special highlight you can be a passenger in one of the snow grooming vehicles – 500 HP and 9 tonnes. There is of course cross-country skiing in Maria Alm, and for night owls there is even a lit cross-country skiing trail, the Gasteg cross-country skiing trail. In total the region offers 40 km of cross-country trails. Tobogganing and winter hiking, ski touring and horse drawn sleigh rides round off your winter holiday. Psssst, a little tip: with the local advantage card, the “Hochkönig Card“, which you get for free when you stay for one night or more at participating accommodation providers, then you get reductions on many different activities. Simply ask about it!

Last but not least, the Hochkönig region is well known and popular for the many vegan options on offer. If it affects you, then you will know that in the ski huts it is especially difficult to find something suitable to eat. Here in Maria Alm, that is actually not a problem, as there are designated ski huts and hotels, which offer high quality and varied vegan meals. You will recognise these places by the “V-Label“.
