Ski schools and ski courses in Forstau

The small holiday resort of Forstau and the associated ski area, Fageralm are situated in Pongau in Salzburger Land and are a part of Ski amadé, Austria’s greatest skiing. With the Ski amadé ski pass, you have 760 kilometres of slopes available to you in the surrounding ski regions.  The Forstauer ski resort, the Fageralm, is a small but fine ski resort with wide natural snow slopes on a sunny alpine plateau.

It offers a Border cross route and a training route, as well as a funny Gugerl-Hupferl route, and a children’s world in the valley, the Eskimo Land. Additionally, there are also 3 children’s ski routes: The Viking slopes, the animals of Fager forest and the Indian path. The ski resort is especially popular with families, due to the diverse range of offers and also because it is very quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle. You and your children can therefore carve down the slopes safely and in peace. You can then relax in the Goliath Oasis, at the highest viewing point in the ski resort, which you take the Goliath lift to and where there is a large double lounger and an informative panorama board.

The local ski and snowboard schools will be happy to help you and your loved ones to learn how to ski and snowboard from the bottom up, because no champion has ever fallen out of the sky. But you will become a master of skiing as the ski instructors have so many tricks up their sleeves to make a real speed demon out of you. You can choose the right kind of instruction for you, regardless whether you prefer a group course or a private lesson, skiing or snowboarding course or a course for beginners or advanced. If you need ski equipment, contact the local ski rental and snowboard rental service. The pros on site will evaluate your skills and recommend the right equipment for a perfect ski course experience!

What is also really nice is a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the Forstauer valley including a stop off at a hut. The popular local horse-drawn sleigh ride tour takes about 2,5 hours and is an experience for both children and adults. Discovering Forstau on foot also comes highly recommended, 20 km of winter hiking routes await you here. A highlight is a lit winter hiking route on one evening, the Bachweg, on which there is also a lantern hike on offer once a week. Likewise, there is also curling for the guests at the Winklhütte once a week. Here you learn how to play the number one Austrian national sport and will almost certainly make a few new friends. And if you would like to experience even more then you can easily get to the neighbouring winter sports area of Radstadt (a ten minute drive away) or Schladming (a 15 minute drive away), where there is a vast selection of winter activities, shopping and culture on offer.
