Ski schools and ski courses in Bruck an der Glocknerstraße

The Salzburger holiday town of Bruck-Großglockner is situated between the towns of Zell am See and Kaprun, directly at the bottom end of the Großglockner High Alpine road. A ten minute car drive away in the direction of the Großglockner lies the former health retreat town of Fusch. Together they form the holiday region Großglockner-Zellersee on the edge of the Hohe Tauern National Park and are the ideal starting points for ski holidays in three ski resorts all at the same time!

The free ski bus in the towns take you directly to the bottom station of the Schmittenhöhe (77 kilometres of slopes) in Zell am See, to Kaprun to the glacial ski area, the Kitzsteinhorn (41 kilometres of slopes) and the family ski resort, the Maiskogel (20 kilometres of slopes) or to Saalbach, to Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn (270 kilometres of slopes). Here, you definitely are spoilt for choice. But that is not a bad thing, because with the Salzburg Super Ski Card you have access to all of the mentioned ski resorts. In Fusch itself, there are practice lifts for those new to skiing, where you can practice your first turns away from all the hustle and bustle and hectic, and that for a truly affordable price. If you would rather have some professional support when learning how to ski, then the local ski schools and snowboard schools can help you with that. And because you are already used to having a wide choice, there are also a wide range of offers available to you from the ski schools and snowboard schools. They offer group courses or adult courses, beginner courses or advanced courses, children’s courses or courses for adults looking to take up skiing again, ski courses or snowboard courses. You can borrow your equipment at the local ski rental and snowboard rental for the duration of your course (and beyond). Especially for beginners the advice of the specialists in the ski rental is a great help to select the right material. So the ski course will make even more fun!

When you can stand safely on skis, all thanks to the ski and snowboard schools, you could maybe even try a ski tour. In the region around Bruck and Fusch there are numerous ski touring routes for all ability levels. However, if you prefer to take things a little bit easier, then you try speeding down the 3km long floodlit toboggan run or you can demonstrate your ice skating skills on the Bruck ice skating rink. You can of course give cross-country skiing a go. In Bruck there is a cross-country skiing trail, which is connected directly to the 100km long Pinzgau trail and in Fusch there is a 5km long circuit.

Another thing which is worth pointing out is that the town of Bruck and Fusch are only a stone’s throw away from the diverse holiday areas of Zell am See and Kaprun (approx. 15 minutes away), which opens up a diverse range of recreational activities. The Tauern Spa Kaprun offers a SPA experience over 20,000 m², whilst in Zell am See there is urban cuisine and a shopping experience on offer. Equally, the Kaprun Fortress is worth a visit – not only for fans of the Middle Ages. But you do not have to go to the neighbouring towns in order to experience regional specialities. In Fusch, for example, there is the Adventure world “Holz Mühlauersäge“ saw mill, where you can discover everything about wood. You see, the town of Bruck and Fusch are small, but are really very refined and have everything you need for a perfect skiing holiday – and much more.
