Ski schools and ski courses in Neustift in the Stubaital

Neustift, the second largest community in Tyrol, is the “main area“ in Stubaital. The closest ski area in Neustift is the Stubaier glacier. If you would like to go skiing in the largest glacial ski resort in Austria, then this can be done from autumn onwards. Here you will find 108 kilometres of slopes, 26 lift and cable car facilities and 35 runs, including guaranteed snow from October to June. The 10 km long run down from the top station Wildspitz (3,210 m) down to the bottom station Gamsgarten (1,750 m) comes highly recommended for fit skiers. Yes, you have read it correctly; this run down is 10 kilometres long! The Stubaier glacier is also very popular amongst families, and not least for the reason that children under ten years of age ski for free here. And there are many other further highlights for families: The Big Family Slope style, a 1000 m long course with small obstacles, waves and jumps; the Big Family Schneeburg; the Big Family Pisten Bully riding; the Big Family slalom and much, much more.

Freeriders also like it up on the Stubaier glacier, as here there are 13 Freeride runs, which can even be viewed beforehand on a virtual video. This means that there will be no surprises and everyone can assess whether they feel up to the run or not.

Freeskiers and professionals meet one another at the DC Stubai Zoo, the Snowpark on the glacier with an XXL-set up (pro-, medium-, jib- and easy-line). And for beginner Freeskiers there are lines where they can practice their jumps and slides.

Naturally you can learn skiing and snowboarding on the Stubaier glacier under professional guidance. The ski schools and snowboard schools teach you and your family skiing with a lot of fun and extra tips and tricks. Even if you can already ski quite well, you can always improve and optimise your technique. In the advanced courses, the ski instructors show you what really matters and how you can get the best out of a ski course for you personally. As having fun and doing something for your fitness at the same time is actually quite cool, isn’t it?

Have you still not had enough winter fun? Very well then! Here in Neustift, there is also a lot to do off the slopes. From après ski and nightlife to many activities in the snow, here you have many possibilities: tobogganing on the longest natural tobogganing run in Tyrol from Elfer down into the town of Neustift (6 km long), cross-country skiing on the 62 tracked cross-country skiing trails in the Stubaital valley or on the 17,5 km long valley cross-country skiing trail directly in the town, ice skating on the 700 m² large ice skating rink with music facilities, flood lights and weekly ice discos or winter hikes on the designated hiking routes.

But one thing is for sure: even though there is a lot on offer here, the glacier will always entice you back to its slopes, as this unique feeling of carving over the slopes and listening to the crunch of the snow whilst at the same time being able to enjoy the splendid Tyrolean mountain panorama, is really quite addictive!
