Sölden gives the 4-S guarantee: snow, sun, fun and skiing

Sölden offers a wide variety of accommodation for your winter and skiing holiday in Tyrol: from a cosy holiday home right next to a ski lift, to a family-run guesthouse in the village centre, the top star hotel in Sölden or an apartment with wellness facilities: in Sölden you will find the perfect offer for your winter holiday.

The winter sports metropolis of Sölden in Ötztal in Tyrol is not only the largest municipality in Austria in terms of area, but is also at the forefront when it comes to snow experiences. 60 years ago, the town was proud to offer winter sports enthusiasts the first chairlift to Hochsölden, but today, guests can find variety on around 150 kilometres of slopes during their skiing holidays. Sölden has thus developed into one of the most famous European ski centres.

The upward trend is reflected in the ski area itself. From the bottom of the valley at 1,377 meters up to the glacier at 3,250 meters, all ski facilities are connected to each other. This not only makes the area more attractive, but also promises a ski pass well into spring. The extensive snow guarantee is not only limited to the Sölden Glacier ski area, because thanks to modern snow-making equipment, perfectly groomed slopes are available everywhere in Sölden. The climate also means well for winter sports enthusiasts in Sölden. In the longest Tyrolean side valley, the weather in the rear part of the valley is mainly determined by the south (northern Italy). Thus snow and sun, two of the most beautiful things for every winter sportsman, appear in Sölden. You can enjoy this combination perfectly not only during the winter sports themselves, but also when visiting one of the numerous huts and restaurants in the ski area.

Sölden owes its reputation as a winter sports destination not only to its excellent range of slopes and cable cars. The town boasts events in a variety of areas throughout the winter. The winter on the glacier will be opened at the end of October with the FIS World Cup kick-off of the Alpine ski aces. Many international teams take advantage of the perfect conditions on the slopes and the Tyrolean hospitality. The combination of exuberant party, night skiing and impressive ski show is offered by the action show with night skiing, which takes place weekly during the season.

The glacier as stage: What the Salzburgers call their "Everyman", the Ötztalers call their "Hannibal". In the natural scenery of the Rettenbach glacier, modern theatre with slightly different performers is shown. Snow groomers embody elephants on the crossing of the Alps by the Katharger to Rome. A spectacle that captivates thousands of visitors every year.
